Team Building - Leadership - Crisis Management - StrategyThroughout his career, Jeff has been known as someone who can get the job done and in fact, started four different positions as the first person to ever hold those jobs, building a department and a communications function from scratch. Jeff’s leadership was demonstrated most recently at EDMC when his charge was to build and mentor a collaborative team of PR people around North America. Working as a one-man department, he built a small national field team to 27 communications professionals, fostering a collaborative work team which shared ideas, participated in national collaborative projects with enthusiasm and turned to Jeff as a key resource for them to get their job done. He has handled many crisis situations, from legal threats to bomb threats, an on-campus student’s death from a contagious disease to a pharmacy product recall at a major retailer to working to manage a last-minute presidential visit to a small college campus. His work at Robert Morris College helped position the school for a move to university status. Jeff was solely responsible for creating an award-winning comprehensive strategy to successfully increase the awareness and reputation of Robert Moris through marketing, media relations and advertising. Using an outside research firm, the campaign achieved its goals of increasing awareness in fewer than 3 years and maintained it over the six years he held his position. It helped to pave the way for the College to move to its current University status.
